February Law Point - Reverent

Posted on Feb 27 2017 - 10:16pm

Our Law Point for the month of February is Reverent. Lord Baden Powell said that a scout should believe in a higher power. He did not specify which god in which a person needed to believe, just that a scout needed to believe in a god. We do not get to spend a lot of time with being reverent just because of the different religions in which we all believe. One of the ways that the BSA helps with this is to require one of the adventures for each rank to be a Duty to God Adventure. This is one where you as parents can also take a big role to help your scout understand what is important about the faith of your family and how to help your scout grow closer in his relationship with God. Car riders as well as dinner times are great times to have these kinds of conversations with your family.
