Welcome To Our Website!

Welcome to the Pack 614 website!

This is the central communications hub for Pack 614. It contains our calendar, events, and announcements. We are a strong, healthy Pack which meets at Buchanan Elementary School in Murrieta on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 6PM. If you have a boy ages 6-10 (or grades 1-5), we encourage you to come to a Pack Meeting and check us out!

Eerie Emerson 2014 was a Screaming Success!

Posted on Oct 20 2014 - 11:38pm

Thanks to Robert Busto, our Leader-in-Charge for a terrific event. Pack 614 won the Best Camp Theme award for a Haunted Trail! Thanks to Robert for his passion and for giving 150% and creating memories for our Pack families!

Thank You Pack 614! 2015 Dues Success!

Posted on Oct 20 2014 - 11:32pm

Congratulations! Nearly 80% of eligible Pack 614 scouts will remain scouting in 2015 (whether dues paid or alternate arrangements made). This means we can enter the new year very confidently as we continue to deliver a quality program for our youth and families. NOTE - if you did not complete a new Membership Agreement and pay 2015 dues last week, you will need to go through the BSA application process again, in order to continue in Pack 614 in 2015. Contact Erin Levine ASAP (membership@pack614.net or 951-500-5861) to make arrangements.

Opportunities to Help

Posted on Oct 20 2014 - 11:32pm

There are always opportunities to help the Pack. One key way is leading the Dec 6 Hockey Night. As you saw at the Pack meeting, at least 20 kids would love to attend the Reign game. We need a parent or leader volunteer to make it happen. We're also recruiting the next generation of leaders to keep the Pack moving. We'd love to identify the next Cubmaster, Pack Secretary, Committee Chair, Activities Chair, etc. Contact cubmaster@pack614.net if interested.

Feedback is a Gift

Posted on Oct 20 2014 - 11:21pm

The Committee and Leaders of Pack 614 work very hard to provide a great program for our youth and families. We depend on your feedback to let us know how we can better serve you and your boys. If you have suggestions, questions, or even if something doesn't seem quite right, please ask your den leader or feel free to reach out to our Leadership Team directly (under Menu at left). We can't improve without your feedback!

Core Value

Posted on Oct 20 2014 - 10:48pm

The Core value for the month of October is "Responsibility".  As our boys grow physically we can help them grow in responsibility as well by having them participate more in family responsibilities or with school, church and the community. There are many opportunities in Temecula and Murrieta to reach out in the community.  We can remind the boys that we have a responsibility to those around us like our Veterans (the Veteran's Day parade coming up is a great example), the elderly,  and those in need.  Dinner times and car rides are great opportunities to discuss this value.  Below are the talking points.

2015 Dues Deadline - October 16 Pack Meeting!

Posted on Oct 6 2014 - 10:53pm
TO CONTINUE WITH PACK 614 in 2015...
1. Review the Pack's current Bylaws, sign and return the last page entitled "Membership Agreement and Recharter Form."
2. Pay 2015 Dues at or before the October Pack meeting (10/16/14).
3. If your son is currently a Webelos II, you will not need to recharter for 2015, as you will complete your Cub Scout experience with the Pack in 2014.
4. NOTE - if you do not complete the above two items (Membership Agreement and Dues Payment), you will need to go through the application process again, in addition to completing the above items, in order to continue with the Pack in 2015.
Pack 614 operates according to the attached Bylaws, which contain confirmation of your commitment to Pack 614 on the last page of the document. This page must be signed and returned to the Pack each year.  Please review the Bylaws and return the “Membership Agreement and Recharter Form”on or before the October 2014 Pack meeting.
Our pack has made consistent efforts to keep the cost of scouting affordable while providing a top quality program to the scouts.  Each year, our dues are based upon the amount paid to the BSA, a subscription to Boys Life, projected costs of awards, and supplementing events to reduce additional payments for camps and activities.  This year our annual dues have been set at $84 (or $7 per month) per Scout.  To encourage adult leadership participation, Pack 614 has a policy to pay the annual dues to the BSA on behalf of the Leaders. The annual cost for 2015 has risen by $1 per month compared to 2014 to cover increasing Pack operating costs. (Pack leadership is considering offering discounts to events and/or partial rebate of Pack Dues when adults volunteer to lead large events. Stay tuned for announcements in coming months.)
